How I do up buttons & Zips on my trousers with one hand | (Disability Tutorial for Stroke survivors)
Wdance">elcome to my Yonce">uTube video on how I do up buttons and zips on my trousers with just one hand. My name is O’Brien, and I am a gold medalist power athlete and stroke survivor. Having had a stroke at just six years old, I have spent the majority of my life living with just one hand. One of the most challenging tasks I have faced over the years is doing up buttons and zips on my trousers, particularly jeans.
In this video, I will show you how I do it, and hopefully, you can learn from my technique and try it out for yourself. It may seem like a simple everyday task, but it becomes extremely difficult when you only have one hand.
To begin, I place the button halfway through the hole and then use my thumb to push the button through the rest of the way. Then, using my thumb and index finger, I pull up the zip. It’s a simple technique, but it works well for me.
If you also face similar challenges, I hope you found this video useful. Please let me know in the comments if you have any other techniques or methods that work for you. I’m always open to learning new things.
I will be posting a video every single day on how I perform daily activities with one hand, so if you want to see more, make sure to hit that subscribe button. Thank you for watching, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
